4 Healthy Summer Popsicle Recipes

4 Healthy Summer Popsicle Recipes

Summer is just around the corner and what better way to beat the heat but with an ice cold popsicle? Making popsicles at home allows you to add in a nutritional punch to these sweet treats while avoiding the high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, and dyes (most commonly red 40, blue 1, and yellow 5) that are often on that long list of store bought popsicle ingredients. Here are 4 homemade summer popsicle recipes that we can’t wait to make this summer:

  1. Strawberry Watermelon Popsicles: This creation is easy peasy to make, with only 3 ingredients (watermelon, strawberry, and lime!). These not only sneak in hydration from the watermelon but also provide a variety of vitamins and minerals from the strawberries, such as vitamin C, manganese, potassium, magnesium, and folate to name a few! Just remember to choose organic strawberries to decrease pesticide exposure.
  2. Kiwi Watermelon Popsicles: As you can see, watermelon makes an excellent base for popsicles, since it’s naturally sweet and is so hydrating. Combining it with kiwi gives a boost of antioxidants and vitamin C, which protect your DNA from being damaged, making it perfect for summer when sun exposure is at an all time high!
  3. Lemonade Cucumber Spa Popsicles: These are the next best thing to physically being at the spa. The cucumber brings a healthy dose of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits, pair that with the antioxidants in the lemon and some raw immune boosting honey and you have yourself a winning combination.
  4. Elderberry Popsicles: Elderberry is not only beneficial when you’re sick, but can also boost the immune system, making this popsicle a great treat in the days leading up to a big summer trip. Blueberries also help build up the immune system, providing a wide array of antioxidant support.

Have an amazing, healthy summer and stay cool with these summer treats- we know they’ll be a hit!
