6 Tips for Achieving Self Care & Work-Life Balance

6 Tips for Achieving Self Care & Work-Life Balance

Keeping a healthy life-work balance can be difficult, often because we tend to prioritize the needs of our family, friends, and work above our own. Follow our tips to help restore balance in your life:

~ Wake up 10 to 15 minutes earlier in the morning and do a light yoga or stretching routine. During this time, set and focus on a positive intention for the day.

~ Set 2 to 3 gentle reminders throughout the day to take a break away from your work, be it going outside for a breath of fresh air, a quick walk around the office, or doing a few minutes of deep belly breathing.

~ Leave work at work! If you absolutely must bring your work home with you, give yourself a set amount of time and then put it away. You could try watching movies on Netflix or other similar OTT platforms. If the movie you’re looking for is banned in the region that you reside, you could probably make use of a netflix vpn to help stream the movie of your choice.

~ Learn to say no to things that do not serve you- it’s ok!! If something is asked of you that you don’t want to do or don’t have the time or energy to do, a simple “I’m sorry but I can’t take that on right now” will help you save your energy for something more important!

~ Move every day- at the very least, take a 10-20 minute walk after dinner. This will help you unwind and the physical activity will release endorphins, which will improve your mood!
