Yuka Tsukioka Edgmon, N.M.D., M.S.A.O.M.

Yuka Tsukioka Edgmon, N.M.D.TRAINING
Dr. Yuka Tsukioka Edgmon is a Licensed Naturopathic Doctor practicing in Orange County, California. Previously she practiced Integrative Medicine in the Phoenix metro area, following graduation from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe Arizona.

Dr. Yuka obtained a Psycholinguistics degree from the University of Alberta and for over fifteen years, she taught thousands of college students in subjects relating to that field. After numerous interactions, it became clear to her that many friends and family members were experiencing an information overload of conflicting medical data when dealing with health problems. Dr Yuka also found that people wanted to be more responsible for their own health care and were looking for an alternative approach to maintain or improve their health.

During this time, Dr. Yuka realized that by training to be a doctor herself, she could expand her extensive psychology background with the holistic approach afforded by Naturopathic Medicine. She now combines integrative medicine and her teaching expertise to form a powerful symbiotic relationship to benefit those seeking alternative medical care.

INDIVIDUAL FOCUSED TREATMENT
It is Dr. Yuka’s strong belief that each patient should be educated and treated as a whole, therefore, treatment should focus on the cause of the problem, rather than simply relieving the symptoms. Prevention is also an important component of her healthcare paradigm. She strives to enhance the person’s own ability to heal, to be healthy and to stay healthy. Her practice emphasizes areas such as nutrition, lifestyle counseling, environmental medicine, weight loss/maintenance programs and healthy aging, utilizing a variety of modalities suitable for each patient.

Dr. Yuka was born and raised in Japan where medicine is a powerful combination of ancient wisdom and modern science. Her Japanese background along with a Traditional Oriental Medicine philosophy resonates in harmony with Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Yuka’s multi-approach blends the best of both East and West.

EXPERIENCE
As a Faculty member of South Baylo University, Dr. Yuka instructs students in the field of Diet / Nutrition and Physical Diagnosis. She is a member of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She enjoys outdoor activities and lives in South Orange County with her husband and two dogs.

AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION
She is a Family Practitioner who specializes in Physical Medicine, Mind-Body Medicine, as well as IV and Injection Therapy. She also utilizes her specialized training in Weight Loss / Lifestyle Coaching, Pediatrics, Autism, ADHD, Environmental Medicine, Cancer Therapy Support, Homeopathy and Botanical Medicine.
