Osteopathic Treatment

Optimize structure and function

Osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) includes a variety of hands-on techniques to treat body structures to regain and maintain function. This also includes craniosacral therapy, which works with the subtle movement of the cranial bones and flow of cerebrospinal fluid. OMT can be used to treat a wide range of issues involving the interconnected networks of nerves, muscles, bones, soft tissues, vessels and lymphatics.

These modalities are especially effective for pain, stress, acute states of illness such as cold and flu, and for prenatal and postnatal changes in the body.
The osteopathic philosophy of medicine sees an interrelated unity in all systems of the body. This philosophy was developed in 1874 by Andrew Taylor Still, MD, who pioneered the concept of “wellness” in the United States and recognized the importance of treating within the context of the whole body.

“To find health should be the object of the doctor. Anyone can find disease.” – A.T. Still
