Dr. Suzanne Tang, N.D., L.Ac.

Dr. Suzanne Tang is a Licensed Naturopathic Doctor and California Board Certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist.

Training

Dr. Tang graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology at the University of California at Los Angeles in 1997, where she was inspired to learn a natural, safe, and science-based approach to wellness and health. This inspiration led her to the leading, accredited academic and research center for natural medicine, Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. Here she earned a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2003.

Experience

Since 2004, Dr. Tang has gained many years of extensive clinical experience in private practice at several integrative health clinics in Orange County, CA. She is a well-known community speaker of natural medicine for the American Heart Association and corporations in Orange County, CA. Dr. Tang has been a contributing writer to many health magazines and newsletters and has been featured on the ABC Channel 7 News for her expertise on natural medicine and health. She taught and practiced at the UC Irvine School of Medicine and UC Irvine Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine. She co-founded Coastal Acupuncture & Natural Health Center (CANH) in 2009 and practices at both CANH clinics in Costa Mesa and Laguna Hills. Dr. Tang creates balance in her life by spending quality time with her husband and two children, dancing, hiking outdoors, reading, meditating and practicing yoga.

Dr. Tang spends time actively listening to her patients needs and concerns. She identifies potential underlying causes of their illness by extensively reviewing their diet, stress and energy levels, exercise, lifestyle, occupational and environmental exposures, past and present medical history, and family history. She uses the latest standards in diagnostic examination and laboratory testing to evaluate immune health, digestive function, liver detoxification, hormone balance, genetic analysis, cardiovascular health and nutritional status. Recognizing that each individual is unique, Dr. Tang creates customized treatment plans for each patient utilizing numerous natural therapies.

Areas of Specialization

Dr. Tang has had extensive training in Diet and Lifestyle Counseling, Nutrient Therapy, Western and Chinese Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture, Detoxification, and Craniosacral Therapy, effective therapies that she has used to address a myriad of conditions. Dr. Tang specializes in women’s health, such as infertility, menopause, polycystic ovarian syndrome, premenstrual syndrome, dysmenorrhea, and menstrual irregularities. She also specializes in children’s health, offering vaccine consultations, optimizing immune and nutrient health, and treating conditions such as allergies, ADHD and frequent cold, flu and ear infections. Other areas of her expertise include successfully treating patients with gastrointestinal disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease, musculoskeletal pain and injuries, cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, autoimmune conditions, and thyroid conditions.
