Ayurvedic Medicine

Accessing the healing power of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning “Science of Life.” Ayurvedic Medicine is the traditional 5,000 year-old healing system of India. The focus of this medicine is to improve the lifestyle and dietary choices that cause disease, rather than symptoms resulting from disease. Ayurveda defines a body in optimal health as having a proper balance between Mind, Body, and Spirit as well as harmony with the elements (Water, Fire, Earth, Air and Ether).

The Ayurvedic doshas (constitutions) classify people into 3 categories– Vata, Pitta, Kapha

Vata is Space and Air

Pitta is Fire and Water

Kapha is Earth and Water

We determine a person’s main dosha and sub-dosha that they are born with. The goal with any imbalance they are experiencing is to bring them back to their constitution from birth.

Common Imbalance Symptoms:

Vata- Emaciation, Anxiety, Anemia, Constipation

Pitta- Acne, Hyperacidity, Jaundice, Fever, Indigestion, Gout

Kapha- Obesity, Cough, Depression, Tumors/Growths

Ayurveda can be used to treat a variety of conditions including but not limited to:

  • Skin disorders
  • Digestive issues
  • Musculoskeletal conditions
  • Obesity
  • Anorexia
  • Pain
  • Mental imbalances
  • Reproductive issues
  • Inflammatory conditions
